Hi, just wondering if there are any Safari users here. I am curious to know what # a gold ring would come up as, and if there is a difference in numbers between 9k, 14k and 24k gold.

Gold will hit all over from foil all the way to zinc penny. Gotta dig it all...

Hi, I am a Safari user and like Bart says, gold rings can register all over the place. Yes, different karat gold will register differently as will the colors of gold as in yellow, white or pink. This is due to the different alloys used in making the gold. Also different sized rings of the same karat will often give different readings. If you are after gold rings you will have to dig every time the pull tab icon shows up on your screen. No detector yet invented can differentiate between pull tabs and gold rings, the only 100% sure discriminator is your eye after digging up the signal!! Good luck, hope you dig a bunch of the yellow stuff!!

I agree.....these guys hit all the points to detecting gold rings.

Just got to dig all those repeatable signals...Good luck guy

Yeah that is what I've been doing on the beach but for cripe's sake there are so many pulltabs!! I thought maybe I could reject a few numbers but no such luck, oh well!

Funny signals though, on some of the pennies on the beach - they are coming up as # 38, a sure sign of silver, only to discover that they are salt and sand encrusted pennies lol!
