I found this cap sort of thing along with some Civil War items. The diameter is roughly that of a quarter, brass/copper? very thin and has a cork seal in it. The sides have twist lock indentations as if this piece sealed a container of some sort to keep out dust or moisture...or to keep moisture in?? Any thoughts.

I've seen tins about this size for muzzle loading shooters. I think it held their percussion caps or flints. If you found it at a CW site, that would fit I think.

Thanks Angelo, it sure does look about the same. I will do some research on that topic. If I find a closeup shot of a cap that has the "L" shaped twist-locks on it then I'll know for sure. Great info thanks again!
