Anybody have stats on silver halves in random cashier buys vs. machine rolled?

I just searched my first box of $500, and it looking like I only have 1 (a 40%)

It seems like the rate of silver would be better by buying halves from each and every cashier you encounter in daily life who has some in the till. If CRHs are simply purchasing and dumping back to banks....and banks really don't have many on hand. It would seem like buying them off tellers would get you a higher percentage of silver that has just been sitting around in peoples cars, jars and drawers.

Any thoughts? Yeah I know, it would take longer than doing 1K coins at a time.

Welcome newbie! The key is volume, volume, volume! Doing multiple boxes a week and stopping at lots of banks asking for halves will help you find more silver!

Those 71s were killing me. So Close.

I'm seriously going to start asking cashiers at any place I shop as well though. It seems like these would be more likely to be right out of the piggybank/mason jar/couch and so likely unsearched compared to the circulated coins you get from Brinks and Loomis.
