Anybody traded sterling for fine silver?

I'm not sure where to post this, if any of you know a better place for this please tell me. I have a bunch of sterling watches and scrap, around 11 ounces (of actual silver) just sitting around and I would like to trade it for some .999 silver coins. Have any of you done this before? What can i expect to get? I know I'm not going to get 11 ounces, but how much do you think would be fair? 10? or is that too high? Thanks for your help.
