- Metal Detecting
I was told by the boss today that we had to take the kids to a corn maze.
So, I gave up the detecting time and off we went.
Little did I know it was a field I have had my eye on for some time.
It goes back to late 1700's to early 1800's with the old house right in front of it to give it all the proof it needs.
Everytime I drive by it I think about asking them to detect some of their old fields.
So, I figured maybe there is a slim chance I can get an eyeball find, as after all, it does happen to others on this forum.
Well, I spotted this object between the corn rows and thought it looked real out of place.
Too perfectly conical/round/smooth and almost perfectly flat on one side; bullet shaped as well.
My first thought was...I hope it is metal.
Well, it isn't metal. It is stone, but it is HEAVY.
I can tell you the area sits in a fertile valley alongside a large stream/river.
I showed it to my wife and asked her what she thought it was and I did get an answer, but I wished an unbiased answer.
This is not my area of expertise by far. I am an old coin nut.
Any takers?

I did get out for a couple hours later to an old football field. It goes back to the day. Tons of clad--not even a wheat. Could not believe it.
