Anyone still using the Explorer XS?

The present models of the Explorer do not go any deeper than the older model. The performance is the same, the main advantages are quicker response and the more accurate discrimination showing ferrous content. The other problem with the earlier model was structural, it was prone to cracking where the shaft slid into the main control box housing. I have been using Explorers since they were introduced and have up graded as the models have changed, and have no problems recommending the earlier model as an excellent machine and getting one as a back up is a good idea especially at the right price .seeya Neilo ;)

I still use an explorer xs. If you check my past posts you can see my finds... most of them come from parks that other brand detectors can't find any old coin targets in.

I still use an XS and love it. I have found some cool stuff with it.

I still use the XS, which I purchased several years ago. I just sold my other working detector(Fisher) and plan to purchase another sometime next year...........maybe the Excalibur........

Thanks guys...took awhile to get back to read replies.
Found out my dad has one...best detector...you're definately on target!!!

I use an XS too. It is a great machine though a little difficult to learn at first if you previously used White's like I had. I hated the XS at first but now, the XLT stays in the car as a back-up!

I have an XS for sale, if your still interested.-----400 us dollars

I have the XS as a backup to my...

XS 2. I sometimes will use the backup for a few trips then back to the 2, when I send it in for checkup I'll use it even more often. Can't really tell a difference in depth between them and and confident and comfortable with either.
