Finally able to get out after a long drought. Ground was like concrete. So I was able to do some research of a area where there was a Apple Stand that was selling apples in the late 1800's to mid 1900's. Me and my Buddy Crow-Duck did quite well. I ended up with 27 Wheaties, 6 Mercury Dimes and 1 Rosie Dime. Crow-Duck ended up with 2 Mercury Dimes, 6 V Nickels, 3 Buffalo Nickels and 21 Wheaties. We had a great time to boot. This was just a 2 hour hunt of this area. A lot more ground to cover. Going back soon.

Went and detected this area again tonight with another buddy TC4. I did not do as good tonight, but it was not bad. 2 Buffs and 12 Wheaties. TC4 kicked my rear. He found 2 Barber Quarters (1893 and a 1896),1 Mercury Dime (1926),2 Buffs, 1 V Nickel and several wheaties.

always nice to find a place that is ripe! great job on the research.

Killer finds for sure.....................HH

Ohhhh you just gave me a great idea! They tore down a fruit stand in my city a couple years ago. Not sure how old it is but it was at least as old as I am soo... Now I just need me a metal detector!

Good hunt, just makes me have the need to dig.
But the grass is to tall, and the dirt to hard.
But the rain is on the way.

Good job!

That's a lot of great finds! You did good with the research, and the rewards will continue to pay off. Way to go!

Is that the big drought we hear on the news, or your personal md drought?
Smart hunting, and a nice score. I couldn't read all the dates, but i do see 1925. 1925 "d" is a semi-key date i think. see if you there's a d next to the bundle of fasces, i think those sticks are called fasces. Your 1925 is in nice condition.

Just curious but if it were a fruitstand in 1800s why was you finding mercs and rosies? Seems like you would be digging barbers, indians etc......awesome finds none the less!

A nice pile of silver. Well done!! :occasion14:

The V nickels and Barber Quarters and Dimes are 1800's. I am also wandering why no Indians. I feel the soil is way to dry and it is sand. So maybe some rain will bring more signals.
