Well I did not find this one but another hunter did in the ruins of the same old House I got my 3 from, it says Maine and has a bunch of stars ans then a singe star, I would like to buy it from him but do not know the worth, have ordered a button book but it will not arrive in time for this one, several diggers are looking, HELP FAST

Looks like a Maine state seal button, all right... one of the #ME 1 staff button varieties. Unfortunately, it's hard to make out some of the details in the photo. (The fact that it's upside down doesn't help, either. :)) Some of these are Civil War period and can bring anywhere from $50 to $150+ depending on condition, maker, excavated or not, etc.; the common post-war ones are worth maybe $10. Any backmark? Also, a larger & sharper pic, showing the pine tree branches clearly, would help.
