Been camping here in September for the last two years, and always look over the artifacts in the area. There was a prehistoric settlement here at one time. Tons of potsherds lying around, usually a thin walled grayware, but every so often you spot some with designs painted on them. A few grinding stones and pieces of grinding basins lying around, and kinda cool I spotted a pair together where they were probably left. With all the evidence of a village in the area, and one possible pit house site up on a ridge, it's unusual that I haven't spotted much evidence of tool making, such as flakes or partial points. I don't know why that is.
