18k 750 on both

18K has a purity of 75%. I'm assuming that's what the 750 stands for. I'm not expert, but they look real to me.

Any other opinions, kinda worried based on the fact that I purchased something valuable at such a low price

Did you get a gold test kit? If you are not sure take to a jeweler and see. They look real to me....

assuming they are both real 18k, and assuming they each weigh approximately 18 grams each (they look about the size of a class ring), the melt value would be approximately $1,070 total. of course any gold buyer will give slightly less so they are able to make a profit as well.

If you get them tested and they are real, be careful they're not stolen. Two 18k slugs for one Benny.... alarm bells ringing in my head.

If all legit, you are one lucky buyer in the right place at the right time! Good luck!:4leafclover:

They look real, but just for kicks, see if they're magnetic. If a magnet sticks to them, they're junk.

They're not magnetic but I don't have an acid test. The thing is the guy needed money very awkward and random situation but he was begging me to take them off his hands and was pretty certain that they'd be worth great value

Hope you didn't get 3rd degree burns handling them! :laughing7:

Go bury them in the park.

Bring some friends and a metal detector on a busy weekend, "Whoo hoo, how freaking lucky am I, guys?" The show must go on....

I bet he was begging you to take them off his hands.

He makes a quick $100.00 and you will likely not be able to pawn them off anywhere, or get a reputable dealer to melt them down.

Did they burn your fingers when you put them on? LOL.....

If they were his and legit, then I think you did quite good.

By the way are you into metal detecting, or is this just a short visit for you?

If they're real, even a sleazy pawn shop would give him a lot more than $100 for them. So my conclusion would be they're either fake or stolen.
