Argillite piece in question.

Digging on a site in north Georgia. Today I found a bunch of argillite flakes in a dense area. I don't think argillite is native to this location.

The pieces circled in blue were found with a 10 foot radius of where I was at today. Only showing for context.

The piece in question is this round piece that looks like argillite to me but I could be wrong. Hammer stone?

I could believe it but I have only found a few hammer stones so I’m no expert.
