I took a trip to Mt. Magazine in Ar today, it is 2,753 feet above sea level, making it the highest Mt in the state, it is one of the 'most photographed' parks in Ar, with hang gliding, hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, & camping.
There are cabins, tent camping, & a 'new state of the art lodge' that has reservations backed up.
The view includes 'Blue mt lake', which i walked around some, also got pic's of elderberries, old bldgs, tractors, etc.....
The overlook shot is not all the way to the top, the smoke is a 'controlled burn'.
I intended on going up into NE Ar & camp a few days, but with the 'gas prices' the way they are. :dontknow:

Cool place. Back in 65 or 66 we went to visit my aunt and uncle at Board Camp and he took us up to Blue Mt. lake. They were 'snaggin' below the dam, and my job was to put the keepers in a gunny sack. We fished all night, and as I recall the water below the dam had a sulphur smell to it. I saw the biggest gar in my life taken out of there.

Man, I do believe you have been more places than me. :laughing7:, my uncle & I went there when they 'poisoned the lake', to remove rough fish, we only had a flat bottom & a trolling motor, every time we spotted a fish & made our move, a fast motor boat would beat us with their net. :icon_scratch:

Gret pics...was that a brush fire on that one hillside shot?

Thanks, it is a brush fire, but the Forest Service does 'controlled burns' when the humidity is just right, & very little wind, that way when a large fire flares up accidentally, (at other times), when it reaches these areas there is no fuel, so slows enough to put them out.

A great set of pics here Fossis. I like the 3rd one, looking off across the valley to the mountains beyond. That would
be pretty to see in person.

Thanks for sharing.
