Can anyone give me some suggestions on finding arrowheads here in Northeast Georgia. I know the Cherokee were here in abundance, but there is not a whole lot of info on th enet regarding the area being rich with arrowheads. Anyone from the area? I live in Gainesville, literally 30 minutes from Dahlonega (1st major gold rush in the US, which precipitated the Trail of Tears). Any guidance appreciated from a noob..:)

If anyone has a field that needs a person to walker and stare at the ground...raises his hand..lol

Welcome to Artifacts Camper1969 !!

I know about North Ga as I am in Chattanooga,Tn on the Ala,Ga line. Georgia is really good for artifacts and lots of people here hunt in Ga. Georgia goes to the ocean and then back to the mountains. The cherokees were pretty much late comers in the time line though.
I would google a known creek or river near you with the word artifacts and see what you can learn. Any plowed field near water. Stop and knock on a few doors. Be sure to get permission.
Maybe some others will chime in. Google something near you with the word artifact and just let me know if it looks good. You do not have to say where you are.
I wish you much luck.
