I decided to give the detector (and my back) a rest as digging in the frozen ground is too much like work. ⛏️
So I headed out to look for arrowheads instead. Nothing spectacular, but some descent little points and a nice sunny day made for a very enjoyable day!

Wow! I would be thrilled with ONE of those! Well done!

Nothing spectacular? Those are awesome and more interesting than most things I find with the detector. Congrats!

I've never seen such a variety of colours for what appears to be volcanic glass. Is that usual for your area? I wonder what the beads are made of too. I have found very few stone artifacts, so do not know much about them but I am interested and hope to someday.

Only the four black glassy ones are obsidian, the red one is chert, the clear one is chalcedony and the flat black one is basalt. The point types are Rose Spring, Cascade, Rosegate and Pinto Basin. The beads are made from Olivella shells, which are found in The Sea of Cortez and were traded extensively in the west and southwest.
