Found a decent amount of civil war stuff at my home wondering what this may be?!

Do you have a size of the chain? and size of links? Without a size reference it could be a 6 inch watch fob chain or 6 foot wagon/truck tow chain... just saying,

Looks like the chains that they used to tie cows up for milking. one t went through a ring on the feed trough and the other went around the cows neck and through which ever ring was at the right place depending on the size of the cows neck.

That’s what I was thinking they had many purposes. I’ll probably never be able to nail it down to one
