Took the new detector into a previously hunted yard, that is after two detectorists, at least seven different machines and two digging seasons('12 & '13) and shook up a Man in Space and Indian Head play nickel, along with 1945, 1949S, 1957D wheats and 1917S Mercury Dime. A short story is in order, because it was a little coincidental. The Man in Space token commemorates the first manned space program of the United States, Project Mercury. On the other side it says 'Mercury IX L. Gordon Cooper' with a picture of a shuttle nose or something. It was dark and I didn't spend a lot of time in the yard, so I hit it and left, only to return in the daylight the next day. I read a little on Gordon Cooper in the meantime, was a very interesting bio, from his accounts of seeing UFOs and contributing to television and movies etc. The odd thing was that I found this token on 10/5/2013, almost the exact day of the anniversary of his death, 10/4/2004. Weird. So then, what do I find the following day in the same yard?? A mercury dime. Fate? Coincidence? I don't know lol. The other side of the 'aluminum' play 'nickel' says, 'Wooden Nickel'. All the wheats were in one hole by the way, really cool. :)

Ok, that's my story.

This was my 3rd outing with it, probably only 2 hours use since I've gotten it lol. It's still pretty foreign to me. All in time! :)
