Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Took the At Max to a hunted out Civil War skirmish/camp site, weve hunted this area hard in the past with Whites MX Sport, At Pro, and many many detectorist have hunted the area before us. The bullet finds are far and few in between these days, so with perfect soil conditions being damp at least 8-12 inches using my large stock coil and working the area slow i was able to find this nipple protector chain, i believe from an 1865 Enfield. A 44cal round ball, and a worn tombac button. I also dug many small scraps of iron objects such as nails and fencing. Im still working to master the Max's all metal mode with iron discrimination. For some reason i get alot of falseing unless i turn sensitivity very low, which in my guess defeats the all metal depth advantage. Ive properly ground balanced and waved side to side balancing. Any suggestions please chime in.

Also my digging partner "sat" todays hunt out, she was excited to get out after a few rainy days inside, but her little heart just wasnt in it today.

Looks like a fun family outing (and finds) Riggleman!

A few nice finds still, the reference of it being a nipple protector chain is a new one for me for some reason, thank you. It's always a good day to learn something new and to ID something dug up over the yrs and blown it off as just a piece of chain.
Your young one looks as snug as a bug sleeping.

It’s amazing how a hunted out site keeps on producing. You had some good finds there today and more importantly a good time , congratulations on both!

Congrats on getting out.
The ATV is a sweet tool.
I have 7 wooded acres and 1 1/2 acres of grass. That little buggy would make it so much easier to get around. Nice I.D. on the chain

Congrats on your finds, looks like you have the best hunting buddy
