AT Pro and gold coins

I realize that gold jewelry is alloyed with other metals, resulting in a wide variance in conductivity...but how do gold COINS sound/register on the AT Pro, anybody know? I would test it out myself, but unfortunately I'm fresh out of gold coins. This year I'm going to hit the place hard where I found my Morgan dollar, Barber halves and IH pennies last year. I figure if people lost big silver there, why not a gold coin or two?

Most US or Canada coins gold or silver are alloyed. Regular US gold coins are alloyed 10% copper, as well as the silver coins. Canada silver coins are Sterling, 92.5% silver, 7.5 % copper. Canada is well known for it's modern gold bullion coinage, which is not alloyed, and is essentially pure gold. I think modern US gold coins are still 90/10 but not sure.
