AT PRO and low contrast screen

Got out my AT Pro a couple of days ago that I got on Ebay for a backup on rainy days and my screen is very light now and very hard to see.
I can't make anything out on it to do me any good, also seems to be operating very erratic....any ideas ? Thanks

I'm sure you have already done it but pull the batteries and replace them. Make sure they are in correctly.

Thanks......It may be still something to do with the power, I have cleaned the contacts, but the wire that come off the screw has some corrosion on it. Try and do some more cleaning and try to loosen the screw and break away some of the corrosion powder on it ...Thanks again and good luck"
