Two fridays ago i had several hours to detect with my cousin in Boyce, he found his first half dime but my finds were pretty slim. All i found was two three ringers two buttons and a toe tap. Went out last Sunday for a few hours and found some great relics right off the bat. My first crotal bell, a shoe buckle ( i think), two heart shaped things; one looks like it was in a fire it has some writing on it but i cant make out anything. The other is brass and has a star or sunburst design in it. I also dug something that has a man and a women on it that says "i love you" on one side and " y o" on the other. Any help on that would be great. I then dug a 1910 wheatie (my oldest) then a 1901 Indian. In the same hole as the indian was a pewter toy tea cup. Also in that same spot was two nice spoons. Today after work my cousin and I went back out to the same spot and right away I found a fork (not pictured) then a button with a weird swirl design on it. Then i dug a nice one piece button with a crest design on it? (any help with age). Went back up where the crotal bell was last week and found two costume jewelry pieces in the same hole. Then it was a long time in between finds, as i was leaving i came acrossed one 3 ringer. Then 40 feet away I came across another spot with a lot of jumpy signals. I found a good solid signal in the middle, dug down two inches and out popped a 3 ringer. Rescanned the hole with the pinpointer and two more in the hole, two more outside the hole. Rechecked it again 3 more! 8 total from one hole, 9 for the day. Thanks for looking, and HH.

Looking at the bullets the one that is more centered looks different, is that a minnie ball? Or is a minnie ball the same as a three ringer?

Nice finds! WTG

This looks like a close match to the three ringer that i had a question about.

Congrats on another bullet spill! Man was I jealous! I've found 3 in one hole, but never more. And a minie ball is just another term for a bullet I believe.

Cleaned pics of bullets and buttons and jewelry things.

Thanks man. I was told yesterday by a guy who was driving by when i was packing everything back up in my car that there was confederate camps all in the area so im thinking thats why we are finding all the bullets and buttons in small areas scattered all over the property.

Very cool finds. I especially like the ornate thimble thingy. You sure did find alot of great relics in that spot. Definately worth hitting again especially after a good rain. Keep diggin'

Thank you, The thimble thing, i think it is a childs play tea cup with the handle broken off. With the winter coming up my cousin and i will be hitting the area a lot, so i hope to find a lot more.

Man! Nice haul of goodies!

its hard to find a good place to go, most parks and schools don't allow metal detecting. But if you always fill in your holes and take all the trash with you then normally nobody will say anything to you if you go to these places. The best way is to just ask for permission at old home sites then before you know it neighbors or just people driving by may give you permission to do there property as well. As your metal detector goes just get familiar with it and dig every good tone and good stuff with come.
Good luck and HH.

Great dig - congratulations!
