AT Pro in salt water

Hearing some bad intel of the AT Pro in salt water. I am considering using it on beach in cape Canaveral , port canaveral, banana river. When I was a kid brothers found a powder bomb dtd ww2 I plan on using it a lot this summer in the river. Should I buy another one different brand or what?

It’s not the best detector for salt water and wet sand but you can use it. You will compromise your depth because you’ll have to turn your sensitivity down to run it where it’s not chattering away on you and this will only allow you to see shallow targets. It still let’s you detect but if you’re not wanting to feel like you’re missing stuff then I’d get a capable salt water machine like the Equinox,..any multi frequency, or a Pulse will do way better than the AT pro. Agree with Irish. I extensively tested the ATP on the beach for Kellyco a few years back and Irish is on target. I had to reduce the sensitivity significantly in order to quiet it which reduced the depth significantly. It performs much better in dry sand and fresh water. If you have access to a multi frequency Minelab or a PI machine, you'll be much happier....but that's just the view from my foxhole.
