13 views and not a single guess? Alright then. I'll up the stakes. The first person to answer correctly in this little contest will win the following coin:

At one point, it was the oldest coin in my collection, and I still remember how thrilled I was to find it.

Hello All,

Congratulations to Montana Jim!! He will now be the proud owner of my 1917 Wheat cent once he PMs me his address or PO Box. The correct answer is: Numbers for the outside of my house, so that the pizza man can find me from the street. Each number costs $2.50.

Once again, Congratulations Jim. I was actually born in Great Falls, and love that part of the country. PM me your address and I'll send out your prize shortly.

Kindest regards,
Kantuck

should it not be -- like so then properly ?---1 cost me 2.50 -- 48 cost me 5.00 ---1482 cost me 10.00

you had 1582 * which threw me off -- a bit

Hi Ivan,

I'd heard and correctly answered this one a couple years back, and thought I'd post it here from memory. I was just throwing out random numbers, trying to show that each number would cost $2.50. You are correct though, 1482 might have made it a bit easier to solve. I think I've got another wheat cent in really bad shape sittin' around here somewhere. PM me your address, and I'll mail it forthwith.

Kindest regards,
Kantuck

Can I not guess and send you a penny? M  nty

Thanks! I'm glad you read between the lines. I'm a native New Yorker who landed in Great Falls... been here 15 years now. It's a great place to live.

I appreciate the contest!

I'll PM you.

Nails or screws

solved folks --- its house address numbers ! -- the numbers cost 2.50 each so for the number "1" --$2.50 --- for 4 8 -- $5.00 (2 numbers) --for 1482 ( 4 numbers) it cost $10.00 --get it  :icon_thumright:
