10 minutes and it's marked solved.
Getting to be ghostly around here.

Maybe vintage but I’m not seeing it being old. Maybe someone else will know for sure. I could be wrong. I don’t recognize it in other words I’ve never seen one like it before

it is fashioned after non-native pipe styles, but not a factory piece i have ever seen. I do not doubt the age but question the attribution.

to me, it looks like a 1800s trade pipe, or even a early historic pipe. could have been a native american used item or not. that would depend on where this was found or originated. if the history on the item is authentic and detailed enough.

For what it’s worth I have an item from an 1830 ish native trade site, with the same pattern

That design is made with a wiggle tool. A screwdriver with a sharpened blade will easily make that design. Might be NA, but I doubt it.
I’ve only seen that certain design on more modern items. I’ve never seen it on ancient pieces and I’ve been surfing the internet for over 15 years.

Lehman rifles show that pattern at times, like others have said i think it’s at best trade era, maybe newer. But not a pipe form I’ve come across when researching trade items

The caption on the photo says it dates from late 19th-early 20th century……

IMPO it is at best a trade pipe, not native made.
