Relic Hunting
Been hunting some farmer's fields in N. Alabama and finding bullets and some other items that indicate a camp. Most of these items have been from 1"-6" deep. Would heavier items, such as buckles tend to sink deeper. This is looking like a Union camp and this area has not been hunted before (to my knowledge).

If your hunting a farmers field, who knows? The plow will pull things up, then turn them way under each time they plow the field up. The buckles are pretty big however. It would be hard to believe you would not hear it if you ran a coil over it.

I know the one sword belt plate that I have found was a good 10 inches down. The bullets I was finding in the same area were about 8 inches.
