Hi, guys!

I think this is an ancient Greek bronze owl figurine. Can anyone help me figure out if it's fake?

Thanks a bunch!

Welcome, Bando. Why do you think it's ancient? I did a quick search, and there are a million of these "Greek owls" out there. Unless you dug it yourself out of the Grecian rubble, I would say likely a tourist piece. Good luck.

Hi and welcome to tnet. I'm no Greek owl expert, but it looks in too good of condition to be ancient; including the multiple colors.

Welcome to Tnet from Toronto bando! :hello:
I found a similar brass owl years ago in a park.
Like yours, I would assume these are just modern decorative pieces... the hole near the bass is interesting? :icon_scratch:

Cool find! I would say made in India. The base has been ground flat on a coarse grinder.

It's brass that's had an acid applied to give it a faux aged patina. Novelty items like these are often sold at museum shops that have exhibits of the genuine ancient artifacts on display.
