Found an unexpected surprise this week. I went back to a permission I did last year where I hadn't found anything. Since we've had a lot of rain here lately, I decided to try it again. I've had some luck doing this lately, but I wasn't expecting to have such a great hunt from a place that produced nothing the last time.
As you can see from the pictures below, I got some really cool coins and jewelry. The best find was a 1912 German 2 Mark coin in amazing condition. It is a little bit larger than a quarter and 90% silver. Also found was a buffalo nickel, wheat penny, and a 1938 British One Penny. I also found a gold plated 925 silver cross and an older silver earring. I found one very neat relic, a brass tag from the railroad history here that says "Erie Railroad Co., 788 pass, Pennsylvania coal Co." (For a video of this hunt and others, check out my YouTube channel)
I proved to myself that no place is ever hunted out, and it really can work out well to return to a place if the ground conditions change, in this case, going from bone dry to very moist and soft. It turned out to be one of my best hunts in awhile. Thanks for checking it out and good luck out there!
