I hit one of my new favorite pawnshops at lunch today to see what new watches They had. I spied this Illinois pocket watch with a Montgomery railroad Safety dial and awesome anchor link pocket watch chain in the case. The price was $69 but I asked her what the best price they could do and she said $55. I immediately jumped on that as I knew I could sell the watch chain for about $40 to $50 so basically will get the keep the watch for the cost of a couple dollars. I forgot to take a picture of the front of the dial but it was filthy with lots of dirt and grime. I spent the evening cleaning it and it came out almost perfect!! I will probably need to replace the hands as they are rusted and the hour hand is partially missing. The watch keeps absolute perfect time and I'm really excited about getting a Montgomery Safety dial railroad watch for my collection. The movement is a caliber 303 from 1918 and 17 jewel movement. It's a keeper. The one question I can't figure out is that the movement is not railroad grade yet it has the railroad dial.
