Great pictures and such pretty birds. You'll have a lot of fun watching these birds daily, until the babies leave the nest then it's almost like your kids leaving home :'( Only difference, my kids never left LoL

Very cool, we got to watch red birds do the same thing last year.

Watch for cats!

Very sweet of you to do that and I hope you got a dryer ;D Please post more pics as the time goes!

I have a good recipe for bacon wrapped........

I am totally kidding - ;D ;D

Doves are amazing .
They get ready to drop an egg and there it is!

We have found them on window sills and even in the grass.
They seem to be devoted parrents too.
We used to keep several pairs of Barbary Doves and sneak racing pigeon eggs into the nests for the hens to hatch.
(raised and raced pigeons as a kid for a 4H project one year)

It will surprise you how fast they grow as well.
they will need some cracked grain to survive this winter.
Don't try to feed them regular wild bird food.
They can't digest it because of the shells on the seeds. their beaks are too soft.

Cheers for the replies guys.
Well the babies have left the nest so we get our peg basket back ;D
My wife was all sad and proud at the same time :D she watched them with binoculars sittings in a neighbours tree, (the birds that is) 8)
Was an interesting experience.

Now no one at all on here would have thought it a bit strange if you had meant your wife was sitting in a tree watching the birds!
