Back from the cold fields with our goodies 1-20-08 UPDATED - George's finds

OK we headed out to our productive site after a nice breakfast. We had five of us today myself, George, Donny, Sam Sr and Sam Jr. As I thought only the top two inches were frozen and had no problem digging. My battery powered heated gloves worked pretty good. The 1864 two center is my 3rd in the last couple months, but by far the best condition. The two piece button with some of the gold on it says Tippecanoe Club on the front and Scovil & Co Waterbury on the back. I also found two identical buttons thats says GII Extra on them. One of the small buttons in rough shape says Washington on it. Hard to see in the pic but it's there. Also a 1920 wheatie thrown in the mix. I know Sam Jr found a 1828 (I think) large cent in good shape. I'll get George's photos later on tonight and will add them to the post. The first 10 pics are mine and the last one is Donny's finds. It was cold but alot of fun.
Good luck out there,
Mike in NJ

Now thats what I call a relic hunt. Good job. The 2 center looks pretty good. The "WE" is strong.

Great post, Mike! That 1840 William Henry Harrison "Tippecanoe Club" political button lists for about $300-350 in nice condition.

Wow, great finds, Mike! I think it was well worth braving the elements on a hunt like that.
Congrats on your 2-center and Tippecanoe button.

Hey Mike nice bunch of "stuff". I just love diggin good "stuff" I think your Tyler button is the best of the lot. Glad to see someone can still get out and dig. It was -10 degrees here in N. Missouri last night. so I won't be doing any diggin around here for a while.
