I detected this site many years ago with an inferior detector and never found a thing. I decided to give it another shot with my V3i after dinner last night and hit a lot of mid-range targets that were obviously skipped over by others. I also dug some deep questionable signals that turned out to be some good finds. The musket ball was sitting on the surface of a busy path, which leads me to believe it was either dropped by someone out of their treasure finds bag, or it was a disappointing find by some newbie who did not realize what he had found.

I am curious if anyone has any info on the lead seal which has N.Y. LES....... RR.
Also if anyone can ID the piece with the GR hallmark on it (possibly a crown over it?) and the eagle watch winder it would be appreciated!

I have only scratched the surface of this "born-again" site!

Nice oldies brother!

I am fairly certain that the "GR" piece is part of a keyhole cover. But then again, I could be wrong.

The GR piece is a keyhole cover to a pad lock.

Nice finds!!

Nice finds Neil,
Those two lug mounts say to me that there are some chance of some very early 18th/late 17th century items that could be found there. But I'd be likeing what you've already found myself. :headbang:
Take Care,
Pete, :hello:

The site definitely goes back at least that far. The eagle button looks like it may be a Regiment button circa 1812. Definitely some goodies hidden there for sure!

Spot on Georgian (British) key hole cover.

I like the watch winder :icon_thumright:

Haven't seen a watch winder like that one posted before...nice :icon_thumright:. Good luck finding more there.
