Hey folks,
Dang, I can’t believe this. I got out on Sunday for some hunting and had a great day picking up five silver coins: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/today-s-finds/620458-lucky-horseshoe-led-me-5-silvers.html
I’m supposed to be in Chicago for work this week but the trip was cancelled due to inclement weather. With a fairly flexible schedule today, I figured some detecting was in order.
I had some spots on my mind I meant to hit about a year ago and just never got around to. I’m certainly glad I did today. Turns out they were bangers! Here are my finds from about 4 hours of hunting.

The tally includes:
-3 Mercs (39-S, 44-S, 45-S)
-1 Rosie (59)
-19 Wheats (18-S, 19-S, mainly 40s/50s)
-A mid-century play Quarter
-A young Elizabeth Canadian Penny
-A California Centennial Fob
-Marble
-Buttons
-Key
-Blank Metal Planchet
I love the California fob. Never seen one like it. Looks to be from some form of celebration in San Francisco from around 1949. Super neat.
I’ve definitely never had back to back hunts with 4+ silvers. In fact, I’ve only had a handful in my life. Pretty awesome day!
Good luck out there and stay warm folks,
-W
