I am an hour into my hunt tonight ! After digging five or six deep screw caps I popped the Timex my very next signal 10 feet away sounded exactly the same ! Another timepiece ! This one looks old and gold and it's heavy for its size . I don't dare do any thing with it till I get home ! Could I have found another gold pocket watch ?? It looks like another ladies size pocket watch as well ! I am keeping my fingers crossed here in the woods ! MaineRelic !

Well you're a pretty lucky dude. Already finding a solid gold watch previously, not too mention a couple of big caches....the odds are good man. The odds are also good is is plated...(esp. if it was my find :laughing7:)...I'll be watching...and it won't surprise me a whole lot if it turns out to be good.

Awesome buddy! You must have done something right in your life to find what you've found. :-)

Well it looking good Rick ! I cleaned the outside with lemon juice and a Qtip ! No corrosion at all on the outside ! I oiled the hinge and let it set and still could not open it at all ! I oiled it some more and let it sit and it opened on the second try ! It's another Waltham ! I've got some more cleaning to do on the inside to confirm but I am feeling confident it's gold ! MaineRelic !

Great find Relic! Thanks for sharing...

Those are a couple of cool finds - nice going!!

Great Waltham..It's what's known as a convertible
Someone had the bottom piece added to a woman's watch to make it able
To be worn as a wrist watch .usually with a ribbon
or the rope band with metal clips.
Could have been a factory option as well..great score I'd say gold all day!

I'm guessing 14k

Hope it is for you!

Well Lesche , The 20 year plate on this size 3, model 1907 held up well enough to fool me as well ! I soaked it overnight in oil because I did not want to scratch up the inside of the case to verify , This morning the rust came off fairly easy ! I was even able to get the serial # . It was Manufactured in 1918 ! Not 14k but a good display piece just the same ! Time to get out in the field and find my next one ! MaineRelic !
