Detector(s) used
Started with a Minelab xterra 505. Then Equinox 600 with stock coil, xl coil and sinper coil depending on circumstances. Now use a manticore mostly or oversized coil on equinox.
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Good , damp time on the beach. Person I often dig with that's a newer detector was getting on the native stuff by eye. Some of the patches have a good bit of nails both iron and copper and her detector can't quite handle it. But she's still getting more spread out signals. She managed part of one of the lead toy guns like I dug in my last post, a buffalo nickel, a tossted wheaty, a nice 1910s local aqua crown top soda, native bits, and the side panels from a usm ( US military) horse drawn cart. We a both going to try and find it's horse next time.

I finally crossed an slq off the bucket list. Also manged a 1918 merc like the one she found last time, 1927 wheaty, toasted wheaty, a buffalo, half a key, an unidentified nickel, a cut half copper from the water ( the only place they are found in this area) , an 18k marked faked ring that's Cleary copper, three indians (1902, 1903, 1895) , a musket ball and half a tag that says "valley Va". I'm guessing it used to say henandoah valley Va?? Railroad tag maybe?

It was quite the task get on land as we stayed out too long and had to crawl under a tree on a slick rocky beach to get past the log jam blocking the way to the trails.

Well worth the adventure, congrats on the bucket lister silver.

Very nice, that SLQ is a beauty, congrats on checking that off your list!
Thank you. I almost didn't dig it's signal because multiple copper nails in one hole were getting me a peaky signal. But a 78 felt a little bit too high for a hole of nails. Turned out go be an iron nail and slq sharing a hole.
