Back to the bullet patch today

I went back out to the civil war site today and was able to find three bullets.
I also found piece of another bullet and a plug of some kind and a piece of a
hinge i think it is copper. Not a bad day and the weather was great for this time
of year.

Good looking finds.

What's the top of the plug look like? (Do a search on cannonball fuses.) Have you found and/or detected for iron in the area. The reason I ask is that I use to hunt a field that I deemed the "bullet field" because all I would ever find are bullets....then I dug a plug that looks like yours....did some reasearch....found out it was a cannonball fuse and started to dig the iron signals too. No intact cannonballs yet, but a lot of schrapnel.

T Haire Thanks for the Info. I will give the all metal mode a try.
I really like to dig Civil war stuff It is cool to imagine what went on
there 140 some years back.
