This weekend I got back into the swamp where a few weeks ago I found a tree that had grown over a pile of Confederate bullets. I spent several hours that day ramming my arm into cold water, pinpointing bullet after bullet until I couldn't reach any more. I ended up with 93 and my detector was still picking up signals.
This weekend the water level was lower and I was able to pull another 19 bullets out of the roots. That makes 112 bullets and I could still hear more that were out of reach. I also had luck on higher ground finding a few more bullets, a rifle hammer, a fuse adapter, and the top of a Schenkl fuse with the 1861 patent date very visible.

Nice score on all the lead. That looks like a very tough place to hunt and dig.

Nice March finds form that 'Honey Tree'. & surrounding area.

That tree was probably a soldiers best friend for some time.
