I was able to get back to the button dump again today and enjoyed our spring like 70 degree weather while scoring a few more relics. One of the finds included the largest token I've ever found, it's larger than a half dollar. I'm in the process of cleaning it, hopefully I can find out what it is exactly. Scored the usual amount of mixed buttons along with another rosette and a few more relics. Over a great way to spend a nice sunny day.

If the large "token" is made of aluminum, try a brass bristled brush to clean it.

I'm going to guess it is a heavily corroded aluminum WW1 era dog tag.

It's a trade token of some sort I can read the word For at the top and Trade at the bottom and 50 in the middle.

Sweet finds Dan! I was silently rooting for you to pull those Barbers we were talking about!

Way to go Dan!

I know this one guy that loves tokens and might have any idea of what it might be. He’ll probably make you an offer you can’t refuse! [emoji23]

Was it deep? Or half in half out?

This one was actually buried two to three inches deep. I think that's why it's so jacked up.

I have used lemon juice and a brass brush with good results on aluminum.

Awesome buttons!

Great day of hunting, that's some nice saves of the buttons, relics and token. Congrats on all
