Had a couple more hours in the local park this afternoon. The Deus is doing well. All I do is dig the high pitched signals, this eliminates most of the junk. Artifact wise, a folding Knife, two brooches. And best of all a miners check, from an old local colliery Dinnington. Before going under ground, these checks were handed over. That way if anything bad happened, by counting the checks, it was known how many miners were underground. Coin wise loads of copper pennies, half pennies. Also a silver 1943 sixpence, and a big 1929 silver half crown. Robert.

Nice finds was that brooch dress loaded with diamonds once upon a time

That miners check is a nice piece of history. Cool find!

Nice Rob. What can a silver half crown buy you nowadays over there?

Think half crowns where taken out of circulation in the 60s. After 1947 there was no silver in them.

True Westfront, who I wonder was miner 602, and what became of him.

Only got a couple of these myself & wondered the same thing - good piece of social history!

A halfcrown don't show themselves too often.
