I went back to the school yard where I found 4 wheat pennies and a silver dime yesterday
and put just about all day in.
In addition to the clad, I found 5 more wheat pennies dating 1916, 1941, 1953D, 1956, and 1957D.
I also got another silver dime dated 1949 late in the day.
The 1916 wheatie read just a little higher than a zinc penny on my X-Terra 50
before I dug it and also read low after recovering it.. I have read that some early date wheat pennies will give lower readings
and this is the second or third time I have seen this in the field when recovering wheat pennies.
Thought I'd pass this along.
I guess this was a pretty good ending to a good year.. now I got to count up all my coins and take'em to the bank and
get some greenbacks.
Thanks for looking,
Felix
