the eagle buttons (3) I have saved in Ulster County looked like yours when dug. they cleaned nicely in hot peroxide and a light scrub with baking soda. patina remained but details were greatly enhanced. you got some great relics!!!
 

thanks how long do you let it soak in the peroxide?and after you use baking soda do you rinse off with sum soapy water ?

KEYSTONE , KEYSTONE WHAT A SUPRISE . BUTTON AND CHAIN AND RIFLE GUARD NOW THATS SOME NICE FINDS. GUARD IS COOL LOOKING.
 

thanks sutphin that's two eagle buttons us belt buckle chain and a guard all only about 3 inches deep yet not a single coin lol
