took lower rod off of #1 and replaced snapped one on #2
went out and worked fine (got a wedding band)
- next morning was going to change the batteries - saw rust leaking around gasket
Oh No ! - turned on - dead - it leaked too and batteries exploded - I did not leave either in
direct sun light - but maybe just being in the heat for the ride and then hitting the cold water did it
im always careful when changing batteries and clean the gasket but it don't take much when you
reassemble the back door if the gasket becomes slightly out of line to leak - now I got to send
2 in and hope they can save them:BangHead:

Wow! Sorry to hear Mr Casper! Hope they can save the units, are these the same ones from a few years ago that some one borrowed from your car?

A friend of mine had his CZ-21 leak and was quoted $600 to repair by Fisher so that gives you a ball park.

Im in a few of their catalogs and have been a promoter of the CZ21 for yrs - the leaking is most likely from over 100 temps and jumping in 60 degree water
Ive helped them sell a fair amount of machines (with out being a dealer) Ive never asked or been given a dime or machines like others do from other companies
but they have taken care of me in the past with worn out coils, wires and a few other leaks - I think Felix knows me by name . I think others
have mentioned I sent them to him and they were taken care of too

Seeing the rust would make me nervous.
Wish you luck.

rust is from batteries - the battery compartment is separate from electronics - so sometimes they can just
cut the battery terminal off and replace and it will be ok - its when water gets in from the face/knobs that
that is a machine killer usually
