I'm a newbie but have been getting some practice in been out about 8 times. Finds have just been clad. Took some coins out today buried 1919 silver dime about 4 inches no VDI number shows and barely a sound. Tried Buffalo nickle and newer quarter same depth. VDI on both negative numbers bouncing around. reading as hot rock. Not a good read or sound on any of them. All were placed flat in hole for the most surface exposure. Dime on open ground did read as a dime. Detector M6 has not been dropped or abused. Fresh batteries. Should have done the coin burying early on but was too jazzed about getting out to get around to it. Anyway any thoughts about what might be wrong. Discrimination down to zero and sensitivity was in spec and the detector was ground balanced. Thanks for any ideas
