I never heard of this event or anything like it until I found this badge and researched the find. The more I read about the event the more significant the find is. (nothing like having the story to go with a good relic).

anyway what I have here is a Badge from the 1st International Workers Olympiad held in Frankfurt, Germany in July 1925. I've included a link to the WIKI page if anyone cares to read more detail about the event but in short, this was the first Summer Games for the Socialist Workers Sports Organization in Europe following WWI. Subsequent events occurred in 1931 and 1937 in other locations throughout Europe. A fourth event was planned for 1943 but, for obvious reasons, never happened and the Olympiad died out.

attached are photos of my find, a photo of that pin in new condition, and a period photo of the Stadium where the event was held.

THAT is a Great find!!!
A little piece of history now in good hands and
not rotting in the ground!
Congratulations.

Really cool find. Does something like that have any value?

I have no clue on a monetary value. some of my searches took me to auction sites that claimed to have these pins up for bid but for reasons unknown there were no images or prices to gauge a value. I can't imagine there are too many of these things out there.

"Workers of the world - unite!"

Great find!! Congrats!!
