Today, I took my metal detector out for the first time in several years. I live in Winterville, Georgia, near the old railroad depot. It used to be called "six mile station" during the civil war because it was six miles from the station in Athens, near UGA. There were lots of soldiers here during the civil war, so I thought I'd find some interesting stuff. This looks to me like a bale seal or bag seal. I'm not really familiar with them, but I found some information on this site about them, and it looked similar. Can anyone give me more information on this?
