Ball pestle

I found this just upstream from the confluence of two creeks near my home. It was the only round stone in the creek and there were known Native camps all along the creek leading me to believe that it is a ball pestle or a hammerstone. I looked around for a mortar in the bedrock but couldn't find one. There is a large area of debitage up stream. All signs point to it being an artifact... As always I welcome input. Thanks for the info!

Thanks! I think I've got a new zone to hunt. Possibly an old village site. I just need to find a point and put an end to this maybe it's an artifact , maybe it's not stuff in my head.
