Very cool! 1850 half penny...can't say I've seen one of those before...Ddf.
 
I have an 1854 listed on Ebay in XF condition. at under $10 there is moderate interest due to lack of awareness these are living a free life as homeless saps with no one to love them :sad11::sad7::sad11:
 
Canada had HUNDREDS of different cents and half cents in circulation before confederation...if you are interested research "bretons"
 
That's a good example of how large a coin needed to be to contain 1 cent worth of copper back then.
