Bar leads to metal detecting permissions

I'm stuck in Catheys Valley in central California house sitting it gets pretty boring but there is a bar across the road from the house I'm house sitting normally I'm not the bar going type but I got pretty bored so said what the hey I can drink a beer or two stopped in and the owner was there an old timer he was extremely friendly and had noticed I had been metal detecting that day soon that became the subject in the bar and I was friendly and polite with everyone and sure enough people where telling me where old buildings once where and telling me I could hunt here and there I guess being friendly can go a long way plus I ended up not having to pay for my last beer a nice little bonus I intend to visit the bar while I'm here most days the people are nice and I'm always happy to end up with places to metal detect
