I hit the beach for a couple hours this afternoon and ended up finding an 1899 barber quarter along with what I think is a 1937 Mercury dime. Also found a
Nice flat button.

Love the coins, :thumbsup: hate what the salt water, sand and gravel does to them.
 

Nice silvers... from what I've seen, you have been pounding the beaches, and your screen name suggests Lower Cape Cod...
Have you tried gaining permissions in the old parts of town? You will be scoring silver, that looks like silver.

I definitely need to try harder when it comes to getting permission to hunt private property. The potential is endless. I've just always been a beach hunter because that's what there is for public property around here and the digging is easy. I don't mind the condition so much because I don't plan on selling any of these coins but it would be nice to dig some shiny stuff too! And I don't really mind the patina, looks nice in my display case!
