I would like to start of by saying that it has been quite a while since I've posted and I'm sorry about that! I've been very busy with school and work, but my brother and I were finally able to get out and do some detecting the last couple of weeks while we've been on vacation on Whidbey Island. I have to give most of the credit to my brother because he was able to get out more than me, and the majority of the keeper coins and such were found by him. The keeper coins we found are 1911-D and 1913-S (semi-key) barber dimes, 1952-D, 1957-D, and 1960-D rosie dimes, a 1906 V nickel, a 1925-S buffalo nickel, 3 1943-S war nickels, a 1945 Canadian penny, and 13 wheats (the only 2 notable dates are 1916 and 1917-s). As you can see we also did very well on clad finding 150 pennies, 40 nickels, 74 dimes, and 28 quarters. We also found many shell casings and several junk rings. One of the rings I thought was platinum, but I took it in to be looked at and the jeweler said it is more likely nickel. This was a lot more silver than we usually find in Washington so that was really exciting, and the 1911-D was our first Barber dime(though we found a Barber quarter last year). Anyways feel free to ask questions if you wish, the majority of this was found in private yards that we got permission to hunt, though some of it came from various other locations. Thanks for reading guys and I hope that you all have a great Summer hunting!

Nice finds. Private yards sure can pay off. On the photo you have with the bullet casings, spoon, etc, there is a row of buttons that you found. Do you have any idea what the largest button on the far left of the row of other buttons is? The one with what looks like a wreath and large ax towards the top... I found the exact same one about 4-5" deep in a city park in Chicago on Monday. It looks old, but I can't make out any identifying markings or anything else. If you find out what it is, can you let me know? I would appreciate it and congrats again on your finds.

Man you guy's sure did a kick ass job on making the finds! Congratulations!

Glad to see you two are back in the swing of things. Looking forward to our get together. Its comin up right around the corner. Congrats on all the great finds.
