Part A;
Last Sunday.
I spent 3 hrs & Dad 2hrs 15 Minutes finishing off this Roman Site. We think they may direct drill oilseed rape into the stubble & in which case this field is over with for this year.

We had 11 Roman Coins & an unusual mystery Roman 'Bead like' object.

Part B;
(Fan's Roman Site)
This new site was named after Land-Mags Dog that discovered it last year. We were dieing to find out what was on it & how it associated itself to a nearby Metal Working Site. My guess, at this point is, that its the living quarters that was seperate from the workshops.

We only had 2 hours on this field & managed to get 30 Roman Coins. So an exciting & virgin spot, that only the dog seem to find! Thanks Fan.:hello2:

Nice would like to find some old Roman coinage someday , looks like a lot of fun !

Give this dog a pet! Great find and killer score with 30 romans in 2hrs! :icon_thumleft:

Thanks, fingers crossed for some nice silver, we are on target for our best year in this catergory, but they have mostly been pretty poor.

I hear ya, but if they had so many bronze to lose a silver will turn up too. If there was a working site with a vicus for the workers there may be a sanctuary as well. I say there must be one. Thats were the goodies wait even when the population was poor.

love your posts, real history digs
