Dad was out, I cycled to the nearby stubble field for a short 2 hour & 10 minute hunt.

This field is normally a pretty low priority, but this is the first year I have hit it with the XP

2 Scrappy Romans
1 nice Victorian Military Button of the 16th Royal Lancers (I think, from memory!)
2 new types of Livery Button - always nice to find...
1836 Silver 4 Pence - first one of this date, I think.

The nice surprise on my second to last run was the smaller part to a broken Japanese Coin (100 Mon, 1835-70), which I had found several years ago. :icon_thumright: I knew as soon as I found it that it would be the missing part, its such an unusual coin it stuck in my memory.

Looking forward to hitting the Roman Site tomorrow, & probing for some new areas of coins!

I like the 16th Royal Lancers Button. :headbang: :notworthy:

That's cool. 8) What are the chances of finding the other piece of a coin mixed in with all that metal? :dontknow:

Nice hunt and glad to see Crudad back on his feet.

Its only the second time, I have matched broken objects, the other was a Medieval Spur Rowel. :icon_thumright:

I think it was about 5 years ago :laughing7: PBK, IDed the coin about 2 years ago, when I pulled it from the pile of foriegn stuff.

Not surprised, it must be rare in a ploughed field. Although, on some sites I have tried hard for 10 years to clear everything, but still can't get the bits of Roman Silver which the plough breaks!

WTG on finding that coin particle what are the chances of that.....
